BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) is an undergraduate degree in computing. You learn programming, databases, networks and how to build software. It leads to software and IT jobs, or to an MCA.
For CUET UG 2026, 10 central universities list BCA, with 11 programmes in total. The papers asked most often are Computer Science, the General Aptitude Test, Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry. The pattern varies a lot. GGU asks only for the General Aptitude Test. Nagaland University asks for the General Aptitude Test and Computer Science, and IGNTU accepts either one. NEHU asks for English plus Computer Science or the General Aptitude Test. BBAU asks for a language plus three of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. HNBGU lists Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, and offers BCA only in affiliated self-finance colleges.
Class 12 subjects matter at several places. HNBGU asks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at 10+2, and Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya asks for a Maths group. CU Kerala accepts Science with Mathematics or Commerce with Accountancy. Tip: Mathematics and Computer Science keep the most options open, with the General Aptitude Test as a back-up.

It varies. Computer Science, Mathematics and the General Aptitude Test appear most, usually with a language paper such as English. A few universities ask for Physics and Chemistry as well.
▸Is Mathematics compulsory for BCA through CUET?
