Integrated MA (5-year) is a five-year degree that joins a bachelor's and a master's in one course, in subjects like English, Hindi, History, Economics, Sociology or Political Science. You do not need to apply again after three years. It leads to research, teaching, writing and policy work.
For CUET UG 2026, 7 central universities list Integrated MA programmes, 41 in total. The most common paper is the General Aptitude Test, often with a language or a subject paper. CUSB, MGCUB, Tripura University and Pondicherry University mostly ask for the General Aptitude Test alone, though CUSB adds English, Hindi, History or Political Science for those subjects. UoH uses a core paper, usually the General Aptitude Test, plus English as a qualifying paper with a minimum score. UoH also asks for Telugu, Hindi or Urdu as the core paper for those languages. Manipur University asks for Performing Arts for Dance and Hindustani Music. Tripura University asks for Mathematics and Economics for Integrated MA Economics.
Minimum marks at 10+2 range from 45% at CUSB to 60% at UoH and Tezpur University. Tip: the General Aptitude Test is the paper to prepare first. It opens the most programmes.
