For CUET UG 2026, 4 central universities list BA Sanskrit: AMU, BHU, IGNTU and DU. The papers asked most often are English, the General Aptitude Test, Hindi and Sanskrit. Three of the four universities do not ask for the Sanskrit paper itself. AMU asks for English plus the General Aptitude Test. BHU accepts English or Hindi plus the General Aptitude Test. IGNTU lists only the General Aptitude Test. DU is the one that asks for Sanskrit, plus three List B subjects, or another language, Sanskrit and two subjects. At DU, combinations without Sanskrit are considered only if seats remain.
AMU asks for 50% at Class 12, BHU for 50% with an age limit of 22 years on 1 July 2026, and IGNTU for 45% in any subject. Tip: if DU is on your list, take the Sanskrit paper. For the other three, English and the General Aptitude Test are enough.
