BA (Bachelor of Arts) is an undergraduate degree in arts and humanities subjects such as languages, history, political science, economics, sociology and psychology. Most students use it as the base for an MA, teaching, law, media work or civil services preparation.
For CUET UG 2026, 33 central universities list BA programmes, 248 in total. The papers asked most often are the General Aptitude Test, English, Hindi, History, Political Science and Economics. A common pattern is one language paper (English or Hindi) plus the General Aptitude Test, as at AMU, BHU and JNU. The rules still change from one university to another. DU asks for a language plus three List B subjects. RGU accepts any one domain paper. MZU asks for English plus the subject you want to study, such as Economics or History. BHU also sets an age limit of 22 years on 1 July 2026.
This page covers the BA degree in general. Each subject has its own page (for example BA English or BA Sociology) with the exact papers each university wants. Pick your subject first, then check which papers appear across the universities you like.
